Alan Wayne Wardell, 69, of Flower Mound passed away on January 28, 2017 in Denton, Texas. He was born on November 1, 1947 in Oakland, California to Marvin and Norma (Montgomery) Wardell. Alan married Georgia Lynn Ripplinger in Oakland, California on August 22, 1972.
He received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Brigham Young University. He worked as a news reporter and a technical writer prior to American Airlines where he retired in fleet service.
Alan had a passion for music and collecting vinyl records. He was a tenderhearted man who was kind to all people. Most knew him to put others needs before his own. Alan had a great sense of humor and could get the most distraught individual to laugh and smile. He was always positive about life and lived as a true disciple of Jesus Christ. Alan had a love for the Gospel and served a two year mission in France for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Georgia Wardell, sons; Janson Todd Wardell of Flower Mound and Chase Tyler Wardell of Dallas.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Chareece Marie Wardell, brother, Darrell Wardell and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 3882 Quail Run, Flower Mound, TX 75022 on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11am.
Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
