IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Albert Wood
"Dub" Million
September 15, 1932 – November 2, 2025
Albert Wood "Dub" Million Jr., 93, of Aubrey, TX died peacefully at his home, November 2, 2025, surrounded by his family. Dub was born on September 15, 1932, in Liberty, TX, to Frances Osbolt Million and Albert "Doc" Million.
Growing up in the "Big Thicket" region of Southeast Texas, Dub explored the piney woods hunting, fishing, and helping his large family, which included three brothers and two sisters. During high school Dub was active and played several sports, including baseball and football. That sense of adventure and activity led to enlistment with the US Air Force in 1950 where Dub served four years, including active duty in Korea.
Following his honorable discharge from the US Air Force, Dub and his brother Tom worked in west Texas in the Permian Basin as roughnecks. Dub then jointly owned and operated a BBQ restaurant in Southeast Texas. In the late 1950s, Dub found his way to the DFW area, which he began a career in the automotive business for over 60 years, working his way up to senior management. It was during this time that Dub met his wife, Charlcie. They were wed on March 18, 1961, and raised three children in the DFW area, remaining happily married for 64 years.
After his retirement as Parts and Service Coordinator with Freeman Oldsmobile-Mazda-Hyundai in 2001, Dub began a "second" career with Ewing Mercedes in Plano which spanned another 20 years, holding quality control and administrative support positions.
During this second career, Dub also worked numerous years with Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors assisting with services and helping families.
Above all, Dub was a devoted husband, father, grandfather "Pa", brother, and friend. Dub was a man of faith, holding church leadership positions including deacon and Sunday school teacher for decades, as well as serving as a mentor to congregants. Dub liked a good joke and always had one at the ready to lighten someone's day. Dub enjoyed hobbies such as golf, cooking, being a part of his church (and cooking enormous meals for church events), helping his neighbors, and spending time with his family. Dub was generous and caring and always had time to help someone in need.
Dub is survived by his beloved wife Charlcie of Aubrey, son Reggie Rippetoe of Sugar Land, daughter Jamie Gilbert of Aubrey, son Zach and daughter-in-law Bonnie of Medford, Oregon; grandchildren Jordan Wilson and grandson-in-law Coen Wilson of Ft. Worth, Mason Gilbert and Karli Chastain both of Aubrey; four great-grandchildren Brock, Ava, Henry, and Lily, sister Joyce Taylor of Hickory Creek, and many loving relatives. He is preceded in death by his daughter Amy, parents, brothers Frank, Roland, and Tom, and sister Frances Butler.
We find comfort in knowing his legacy lives on in the lessons he taught us, the love he shared and the memories we will cherish forever. We are thankful for the foundation of life that dad (Pa) gave us. We will miss him every day.
A visitation and remembrance service will be held at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors on November 11, at 2 p.m. Burial with military honors will occur at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
