Obituary

Albert (Sonny) Emil Gulden, Jr., age 78, died peacefully at home after losing his battle with AML leukemia on February 15, 2025. Al was born in Dallas, Texas to Albert and Winnifred Gulden. He was a graduate of Denton HS and earned a BS degree from North Texas State University (UNT).

Al began his career in insurance with Floyd West and Company and later with American States Life where was recognized for his ability and received the President's Award. After his return to Denton, he worked in sales at Payless Cashways and Home Depot where developing friendships with both coworkers and customers. Never meeting a stranger, remembering names, and checking on people's families created real relationships.

Often seen mowing his lawn, working on the farm, or loving on his pet donkeys will be how many remember him.  For others, it will be his compulsion to know how things worked beginning with family clocks, the stereo, a tv which later led to him having the confidence to build his own dune buggy.

Al is survived by his sister Diane, nieces Courtney, Whitney, Hillary, and Caitlin and beloved friends.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society - North Texas.
