Albert Julius Schmidt, 84, of Oak Point, Texas, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 in Denton.  He was born December 17, 1934 in San Francisco, CA to Antonio Luciano Schmidt and Carolina Gutierrez del Palacio Schmidt.  He married Ana Maria Sagrestano on August 3, 1962 in Guaymas, Mexico.  She passed away on August 24, 2019.  He served as a Physicians Assistant in the U.S. Navy until he was honorably discharged August 17, 1956  He taught occupational Spanish and worked for a non-profit organization supporting the economically challenged in education, job skills, training, literacy and employment.

Visitation will be Friday, September 6, 2019 from 7:00 – 8:00 P.M., with Rosary said at 7:30 P.M.  at DeBerrys Funeral Home.

He is survived by his daughter, Ana Zmoik (Jimmy) of Oak Point; sons, Albert Schmidt (Lorena) of Carrollton, Aaron Schmidt (Terri) of S. Grafton, MA and Anthony Schmidt (Kim) of Holly Springs, NC; 9 grandchildren Danica Ferrell (Patrick), Hunter Zmolik (Shannon Jones), Zach Zmolik (Alyssa), Hayley Schmidt, Caleb Schmidt, Luke Schmidt, Sam Schmidt, Asa Schmidt, Max Schmidt, and 2 great grandchildren, Isaiah and Lucy Zmolik.  He is preceded in death by his wife, sister, Lily White, brothers, Oscar White, Ernie Schmidt, Henry Schmidt and Bobby Schmidt, and parents, Antonio Luciano Schmidt and Carolina Gutierrez del Palacio.
