ALBERT "WAYNE" SMITH, 72, of Ponder, Texas passed away January 16, 2022, in Denton, Texas. Wayne was born in August 1949 to Albert Lester Smith and Maggie Leona Hawkins in Dallas, Texas and grew up in Irving, Texas.

He owned several businesses and real estate and worked as a postal carrier and DOD government employee and was a licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Joyce, one son, Albert Joseph Smith and wife Adrianna, daughter Alesha Terherst and husband Mike of Guthrie, Oklahoma, and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 10 am to 11:30 am. A small service will be held at 11:30 am followed with a private burial at Oak Grove Cemetery in Irving, Texas.
