Obituary

Alfred P. Brandimarte, 92, of Denton passed away at his home on November 21, 2017. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on March 6, 1925, to Sesto and Pauline (Aufieri) Brandimarte.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Betty Jo Brannon Brandimarte; his children, Paul and Cynthia; his daughter-in-law, Nancy; his grandsons Trey and Nathan; his granddaughters-in-law Julie and Chelsea; and his great-grandchildren Summer, Ashley, Paige, Bella, and Tanner.

"Brandy" first came to Texas in 1943 as an Army Aviation Cadet at Pampa Air Force Base, where he met Betty, a Junior USO.  After training, he ultimately flew B-24s and B-29s as a pilot in the US Air Force during World War II.  After a brief return to civilian life, he re-enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. Betty and Al eventually settled in Texas where he, an engineer by instinct, saw opportunity in his adopted state's hot climate. He helped pioneer automotive air-conditioning and worked in the automobile industry, designing, engineering, and marketing automotive after-market products from 1953 through his retirement.

He was a long-time member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas, and the Knights of Columbus.
