Alfred Dale Duffy, 97, of Denton, Texas, formerly of Kingfisher, OK, Enid, OK and Yukon, OK, passed away on March 5, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on February 24, 1920 near Dover, OK, on an Oklahoma Centennial Heritage Farm, to Floyd Colton Duffy and Elizabeth Marie Garms Duffy. Alfred married Lea Etta Southwick on November 28, 1941 in Butler, OK. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an airplane mechanic with the 352nd Fighter Group in Europe. They were known as the Blue-Nosed Bastards of Bodney. He was a wheat and cattle farmer most of his life near Kingfisher, OK, as well as a jet mechanic at Vance Airforce Base in Enid, OK, until his retirement.
Alfred is survived by his wife, Lea Etta, three sons, Alfred Lee Duffy and wife Arlene, Floyd A Duffy and wife Rita, Jerry D. Duffy and wife Jeanne, daughter, Linda Chamberlain and husband Alan, brother, Robert Duffy, sister, Barbara Wilczek, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Elizabeth Duffy, two sisters, Evelyn Adams and Dorothy Geis, three brothers, John Duffy, Ronald Duffy, Clifford Duffy, grandson, Jeffery Duffy and great granddaughter, Madison Duffy.
Visitation will be Tuesday March 7, 2017 from 5-7 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, TX. Funeral services will be held Thursday March 9, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Kingsfisher Church of the Nazarene, 414 Hill Dr., Kingfigher, OK, with burial to follow at Kingfisher Cemetery west of Kingfisher on Hwy 33.
