Alice Louise Hooten, 85, passed away surrounded by family Friday, October 19 following a brief illness.

Alice was born in St. Louis, MO August 13, 1933 to Leonard and Mary Schuermann. She married J.R. Hooten on May 29, 1969. They were just 6 months shy of their 50th wedding anniversary.

Alice is survived by her husband J.R., of Denton, daughters Leslie Lee of Denton, Jennifer McKenzie of Atlanta, GA and Julie Washam of Prosper, 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Chris McKenzie.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 23 at DeBerry's Funeral Home from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. followed by a rosary from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, October 24 at Immaculate Conception Catholic church at 10:30 a.m.
