IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alta Mae
Schupp
July 20, 1926 – July 4, 2021
Alta Mae Schupp departed this life on July 4, 2021 to begin the joy of eternal freedom with the Lord Jesus Christ. She was 16 days short of her 95th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Phillip B. Schupp, Sr.; one son, Keith Schupp; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn; and brother, Bert Morris III. Alta is survived by her "four boys", Phillip, Jr. (Lynda), Kenneth, Christopher (Kathy), and Bert (Jackie). That was only the beginning of the family she loved dearly. Alta had seven grandchildren, Melanie Schupp, Keith Schupp, Christopher Schupp II (Youkabed), Nathaniel Schupp (Hazel), Caroline Kirk (Russell), Tracy Enoch (Kevin) and Bryan Schupp (Tara). Then the eleven great-grandchildren arrived, Autumn Bush (Ian), Amber Ollier, Nicolas Schupp, Isabella Schupp, Sebastian Schupp, Avery Enoch, Natalie Enoch, Landry Schupp and Adeline Schupp. And she was blessed to see two great-great grandchildren, Emmy Bush and Nolan Bush. Alta loved getting together with all her family and her birthday became the occasion for many family reunions.
During her life Alta faithfully attended her boy's baseball games and football games and track meets. She was involved in many different activities, such as Eastern Star in Lake Jackson, the Library Board and her Sunday school class in Gladewater and different committees at Lake Forest in Denton. She had an infectious laugh and a sparkling personality. If you were her friend you were dearly loved.
There is so much that can be said and stories that can be told of Alta. Perhaps the best way to sum up her life was written by her several years ago.
"From time to time I have found myself thinking about different stages in my life. I had a happy childhood, a wonderful Mom and Dad who taught me the values that have influenced my entire life. A brother who was just a super guy, who only approved of one fellow I dated. That was the one I married. Phil was my high school sweet heart and I was lucky to be able to spend 56 good years with him. We shared those years with five sons. God called one back much too soon, but it was our joy to raise four to be faithful husbands and wonderful dads. No parents were ever prouder of their children than we were. I must add the blessings we received from the four precious daughters our sons gave us. We were proud of each of you and loved you too. From their unions came the added treasure of having grandchildren (as well as great and great-great grandchildren) who have a special place in our hearts. What a joy it was to spend time with you. All through the years God saw our need for friends too. At each location He saw that we had special friends to share our sorrows and joys. I thank God for loving me so much and for placing each of these special people in my life. These few words hold a volume of blessings that I wouldn't trade for anything. I have had a wonderful full life. Thank you, Lord." -Alta
The family wishes to thank the staff of Beehive Homes of Lewisville and the Good Samaritan Hospice. Each one of you made her last six weeks the best they could be.
