ALVIN LEO ROGERS devoted husband, father, and grandfather, born October 12, 1947 in Corsicana, Texas to Lealon Leo and Willie Mae Rogers died January 29, 2021.  He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Diane Rogers of Denton, Texas; children, Dylan Rogers of Dallas, Texas, Angie Rogers Borchardt (Sam) of Honolulu, Hawaii, Daniel Rogers (Tiarra) of Lawton, Oklahoma, Brad Koehn (Christy) of Dallas, Texas, and Anna Kincaid (Gennies) of Timberon, New Mexico, and 18 grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 sisters, Barbara Chambers (Marlin) of Eustace, Texas, Betty Wallace (Mike) of Duncanville, Texas, Beverly King (Jim) of Forney, Texas, plus many cousins, nieces, and nephews.   He was preceded in death by Linda Rogers, Oak Leaf, Texas.  He will be cremated on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Deberry Funeral home in Denton, Texas.  There will be no visitation, funeral, or memorial service at this time due to the current risk of Covid-19.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to The American Heart Association in Alvin's name.

Alvin is remembered by friends and family as a kind, friendly, outgoing person.  He graduated South Oak Cliff in 1966.  He worked in construction for over 50 years, and most of those years as a superintendent of commercial construction.  He was revered by coworkers and customers.  He would drive through Dallas and surrounding areas and say "we built that, and that . . ."  He also served in the Navy Seabees Reserves for 14 years.

He loved to travel with Diane and was able to visit children and grandchildren in Japan, Hawaii, Seattle, Connecticut, and New Mexico plus many other places.   Most of all he loved Colorado Springs where he wished he could have lived.  He often traveled to Red River, New Mexico where he used to go as a child and has many memories there.

He has a blended family with 3 children and 2 stepchildren who brought 18 grandchildren and loved each and every one as his own and they loved their "Papa".

He loved his children more than anything else in the world.  They were the light of his life.

He was truly loved by his 3 sisters.  He was the only boy, both big brother and little brother in a family of 4 children.  He was definitely his mama's favorite.  He was known to us as the "golden boy", because where his mother was concerned, he could do no wrong.

We all feel lucky to have had him in our life.  He was truly a blessing and will be missed.
