Alvoid Haygood, 93, of Keller died Friday, December 13, 2013 in Keller. Mr. Haygood was born on March 29, 1920 to Paul Columbus and Mallie Haygood in Olney, Texas.

Mr. Haygood married Helen Marie Glidewell in 1944 in Orange Texas. Mr. Haygood was a Captain in the U.S. Army and served in World War II and in Korea. Mr. Haygood was a Training Director for several electrical companies; his last position was the Training Director for Davis Electrical.

The family will receive friends at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 6 pm to 8pm. Funeral Services will be held at the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 2:00 pm with James Baker Officiating. An interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Haygood was preceded in death by his Father, Paul Columbus Haygood, his wife, Helen Haygood his son, Harry Alvin Haygood and sisters, Evelyn Kunkel Schultz, Josephine Kunkel Bemel and brother, Eldon Kunkle.

Mr. Haygood is survived by his son, Paul Haygood and wife, Sharon of Keller, Texas; one brother, Don Pease of Bakersfield, California; four grandchildren, Tyler Haygood of Denton, Texas, Johanna Hayden of Keller, Texas, Jonathan Haygood of Beaux Bridge, Louisiana and James Haygood of Lake Charles, Louisiana and five great grandchildren.
