Amelia Rena Taylor, 57 of Denton, went home to her Lord on April 4, 2015. Rena was born on August 31, 1957 to Alvin Doyle and Amelia Smith in Denton, Texas.
Rena, a loving wife, mom, grandma, daughter and friend to many was a 1975 graduate of Denton High School and a Beautician for 25 years. She loved and adored her husband, Ronnie, whom she lovingly referred to as "Brat". Her sons were the light of her eyes and she was not just their mother but best friend. "MeMe" spoiled her 2 grandsons and loved them more than life. Rena had a smile that lit up a room and she never met a stranger. All who met her loved and cherished her. Her love for life and people inspired her family and friends and even those who never met her. Above all she loved her Jesus.
Rena is survived by her mother, Amelia Smith, her husband, Ronnie Taylor of Krum; two sons, Mikel Watkins and fiance, Amy, and Adam Watkins and wife Amber and grandsons, Caden and Chandler; Brothers, Tony and John Glenn Smith, sisters Melody Powley and Debbie Roberts. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Alvin Doyle Smith and sister, Dottie Simmel.
The family will receive friends at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held at The Willowood Church of the Nazarene on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
