Obituary

Andrew J. Kerestine III (Andy) passed from his earthly home in Lantana, Texas early on March 25, 2015. He was 85 years old. Andy moved with his parents and siblings to Denton in 1942 to construct the Denton Municipal Airport. He attended Junior High and High School at North Texas Laboratory School where he met Ethel Ann Hoke Kerestine whom he married in 1955. During the Korean War, Andy served in the Navy on the aircraft carrier, USS Kearsarge. On return from service, Andy worked for General Dynamics before operating several businesses in Denton and North Georgia. He was active in the Catholic Church throughout his life. After he retired, Andy worked in a coffee shop in Dahlonega, Georgia where he was visited daily by locals and tourists to share his jokes and vibrant sense of humor. He moved back to Denton County in 2006.

Andy's greatest legacy is his devoted family. He is survived by his wife, Ann, their 4 children and their spouses: Julia Kerestine; Kelly Brazzil; Andy IV and Cheryl Kerestine; and Paul and Diane Kerestine. He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; his sister, Nancy Baker; 21 nieces and nephews, and their progeny. He was predeceased by his brother Jack Kerestine.

A visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral home in Denton, Texas on Friday, March 27, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mass will be held for Andy at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denton Texas at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday March 28, 2015 followed by graveside service at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorial donations to Scottish Rite Hospital or St. Jude's Hospital.
