Andrew "Andy" "Drew" "Brutus" Charles McLaughlin, 39, of Shady Shores, Texas passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013. He was born on November 20, 1973 in Oak Park, IL to the late John and Marjorie McLaughlin. Andrew met his future wife Joey Lynn Ferryman while he was still living in Illinois. In 2000, he moved from Illinois to Texas. A few short years later, Andrew and Joey were married in Lewisville, Texas on October 4, 2003.

Andrew attended college at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL but received his degree in Information Technology at Devry University after moving to Texas. Andrew was employed as an IT supervisor at Healthsmart in Las Colinas, TX.

In his spare time, Andrew loved watching the Chicago Bears and White Sox games on TV with his sons, Ryan and Brendan. Andrew was a man of few words, until you got to know him. He could make anyone laugh with his quick witt and humor. Andrew was a family man who adored his wife and children with all his heart.


Andrew is preceded in death by his parents John and Marjorie McLaughlin. He is survived by his wife, Joey McLaughlin; sons, Ryan Andrew and Brendan Casey McLaughlin; sister, Lisa McLaughlin Rajchel of Arlington Heights, IL; brother Brian McLaughlin and his wife Holly of Schaumburg, IL; mother-in law Yvonne Ferryman and father-in-law Jeff Ferryman of Ponder, TX; brother-in law Brandon Ferryman and his wife Rachel of Ponder, TX. He was a loving uncle to Sara, Jeni, Patrick, Brianna, David, Daniel, TJ, Lucas and Reagen.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 1-3 pm in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up: Andrew McLaughlin Family Memorial Fund, Inwood National Bank, 2220 San Jacinto Blvd. Denton, TX 76205. This will help with his family's current and future needs.

Honorary pallbearers will include Jason LoCoco, Frank Anselmo, Ted Manikas, Gus Manikas, and Eric Crampton.
