Ann Drosihn Lewis, 79, died Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Serenity Gardens in Denton, Texas from complications accompanying Alzheimer's disease. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Rudy and Anna Drosihn of Denton, her husband Al Lewis, and her dearest friend, Louise Davis of Denton.
Ann was born in Dallas County on June 18th,1944 and was always grateful to God that she was adopted by her loving parents, Rudy and Anna. She had a wonderful growing up experience in Denton where she made many lifelong friends. Ann attended Texas Woman's University where she graduated with honors and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and won the Outstanding Teacher Award. Although Ann never had any children of her own, her tremendous love for children was evidenced by the excellence and accolades she received during her teaching career in Lewisville, Irving, and Dallas.
Ann married the love of her life, Al Lewis in 1982 and they were happily married for twenty-two years and resided in Richardson and Plano. Together, they enjoyed travelling, building their home, and times with friends. Ann was a fun, active, lively, and highly energetic woman who enjoyed many activities and hobbies. Some of the things she loved most were annual trips to the Texas State Fair, raising and showing her St. Bernards and Portuguese Waterdog, her enthusiastic involvement in the Richardson Woman's Club, watching classic movies, hosting sleepovers for her godchildren,Cole, Clark, and Cate Jeffrey, weekly game nights with close friends, and art and interior decorating.
Ann accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at a young age. Bible Study and church attendance were always priorities. Ann was an active member of Stonebriar Community Church and loved intensive Bible Study as a participant in Bible Study Fellowship.
Ann has been interred at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton next to her husband and parents. A Memorial Service celebrating Ann's life will be held on Saturday, October 28th at 10:00 A.M. at the DeBerry Funeral Home Chapel in Denton, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Woman to Woman Pregnancy Resource Center in Denton, Texas or the Rudy and Anna Drosihn Scholarship for Adopted Children at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas.
