Ann ‘Carolyn' Roberts, age 87, passed peacefully on August 7, 2026 at her home in Northlake, Texas. She was born in Parkin, Arkansas on February 26, 1939 to Robert Loyd Harris and Mary Jane 'McFadden' Harris.

Carolyn met the love of her life, James, as a teenager in Rockford, Illinois. They were married on June 11, 1955, with James's brother, Gene, officiating the ceremony. They later welcomed two daughters, Mary and Cindy; and two sons, James and Bradley.

During the 71 years that James and Carolyn were married; they moved their family to Arkansas, Arizona, California and Texas. After they retired, they moved to Arkansas to spend more time with Carolyn's aging father, her siblings; and James's siblings. In 2019, they made their final move to Northlake, Texas to be closer to their children and their families.

Carolyn was proceeded in death by her parents, Robert & Mary Jane Harris, and younger sister, Bobbie Jean. She is survived by her older sister, Grace Chastain; her loving and devoted husband, James, two daughters, Mary Hardy and husband, Butch and Cindy Bright and husband, Jim; two sons, James Roberts, jr. and wife Kim, and Bradley Roberts. Grandchildren include: Jacquelyn, James III, Bob, Mikeal, Lance, Amanda, Rachael and Kathryn and their spouses; plus 13 great grandchildren and many friends.

Carolyn was an active member at Southmont Baptist church in Denton, Texas. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting hats for cancer patients and prayer shawls for widows. She also loved baking cakes for church functions and family events.

One of her greatest gifts was working with children. She worked many years in the church nursery at First Baptist church in Plano; and teaching disabled and mentally challenged children through the Plano Independent school district. She was blessed with the gift of patience and unconditional love; and will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held at 10:00am, on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00am at Southmont Baptist Church in Denton, Texas.
