AORA PERRY HOWELL, JR.
Perry was born to Aora Perry Howell, Sr. and Bertha Lee Graves in Ranger, Texas on May 10, 1932. Perry went to be with our Lord and Savior peacefully on September 17, 2023, surrounded by family in his home.
Perry enjoyed fishing, camping, country music and dancing. He was also a model train enthusiast. Perry was also a "giver", and he made many donations to his favorite charities.
Perry retired from the US Army in June 1969 after 20 plus years of loyal service. As well as numerous temporary assignments he was stationed in Japan, France, Viet Nam, and Germany.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Lila Vernon Merritt, Lola Loraine Witherspoon, Madeline Kirk, and Wanda Brown, half-brother Grogan Garrett, and half-sister Lois Louise Howell Kline.
Perry is survived by his sister Betty Jean Fitzmorris of Tulsa OK, daughters Patricia Herron & husband Evan, Belinda Shaw & husband Ronnie, Aora Smith & husband John and son Aora Perry Howell, III & wife Marsha. Perry was also blessed with 14 grandkids, 33 great grandkids, and 7 great-great grandkids.
Funeral Service will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, TX on Saturday, September 23rd at 2 PM.
Burial Service will be at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on Tuesday, September 26th at 11:30 AM, Lane 3.
