IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Archie M.
Eddleman
November 9, 1944 – December 4, 2020
Archie Myers Eddleman III, 76, of Padgett, Texas went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2020. He was born on November 9, 1944 in Olney, Texas to A.M. Eddleman Jr. and Madeline Womack Eddleman.
Archie grew up fast and was always hustling. At 12, he started farming which included driving a combine and working harvest. He was a sacker in a grocery store and even had a paper route. He graduated from Olney High School in 1963 and then attended Ranger College and West Texas State University. He later worked in the oilfield until he moved to DFW after accepting a job with American Airlines. He retired from American after 25 wonderful years and continued working as a farmer/rancher in Padgett, Texas. Archie was a member of the Olney Church of Christ and the Masonic Lodge.
A good rain, a new calf and Ruby's cooking were some of Archie's favorite things. He never met a stranger and could remember jokes like no one else. He was the life of the party and could keep you in stitches with his witty personality. He was adored by his grandkids, whom he always loved to reward for a job well done. He enjoyed playing dominoes and was the best at knowing what others had. Everyone always wanted to be his partner to increase their chances of winning. He and Danny Henderson have won many a domino tournament due to his talent! Archie loved watching the calf roping at the San Angelo Roping Fiesta, he hasn't missed one in over 40 years. He could often be seen driving around visiting with his many friends such as Danny and Sandra Schertz, Danny and Debbie Henderson, Jim and Norita Johnson, Leland and Rita Franks, Manuel and Richard Nunley and many others, way too many to mention them all.
Archie is survived by his sons, Mark Eddleman and wife Natalie and Coy Eddleman and wife Leslie, along with grandchildren: Cooper, Gracie, Hudson, Tanner, Hartlie, RuthAnn, Gatlin & Coy John Eddleman, his brother, Ronald Eddleman and nephews, Jim Bob Eddleman and wife Lori, and Don Ed Eddleman and wife Pam. He is also survived by his longtime partner and best friend Ruby Eddleman (who lovingly cared for him to the end) and her daughters Shannon Nelson and husband Mark, Shelley Graben and husband Erich, and grandchildren Sheridan, Hailey, and Briar. He is preceded in death by his parents, Doris Eddleman and Tyler Nelson.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 5-7 PM at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Restland Cemetery in Olney, Texas
