Arthur D Avant passed away in Denton, Tx on Tuesday, March 14, 2023. He was born in Batesville Mississippi to Sylvester Avant and Willie  Cox Avant on August 20, 1940. Arthur enjoyed music, playing bass guitar and flying jet airplanes in real time on his computer. He made many friends on line.

Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home on Sunday, March 19, 2023 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. A graveside service is scheduled for 12:00 P.M. Monday, March 20, 2023 at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas. Services will be officiated by Pastor Betty Wright Watson and Dr. Kristopher K. DarDar. Pallbearers will be Arthur's family and friends.

Arthur is preceded in death by his parents,  beloved grandmother Mama Georgia, sisters - Corene Clay and ,Thelma Marie White, brothers - John Avant and Robert Avant, step-son Joseph Chabert. He is survived by his Wife - Carole Avant, Son - Kerry Avant and wife Christi, Grandchildren - Sunshine Avant, Corey Chabert, Joshua Chabert and wife LeAnn, Tiffany Mote  and husband Jon, Greatgrands - Traysen, Teagin, Madison, Daden, Paityn, Natalee, Ryder and Leah . Numerous beloved nieces and nephews.  Grand Dog HOBO, better known as HUCK.
