Audrey Williams Miller passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, January 13, 2018 in Denton, Texas. She was born to Robert and Vera Easley Williams on June 10, 1925.
Audrey was a graduate of Dallas Sunset High School, class of 1943, and married her high school sweetheart, Robert M. Miller on November 25, 1943 in Kansas City MO prior to Robert's overseas departure with the USAAF during WWII.
Audrey and family moved from Dallas to Denton in 1965, ultimately building their dream home in Argyle, Texas where they enjoyed creating happy memories with their grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband on October 8, 2001 and finding the home in Argyle to be more than she could handle, Audrey moved to Primrose at Sequoia Park Senior Apartments where she lived happily for thirteen years. As her health declined, Audrey moved to Denton Rehab where she discovered her skills playing bingo, cardo and horse racing, using her winnings to keep a candy bowl full for staff and visitors.
Audrey is survived by a sister, June Ahrens, her sons Monte (Lynn Singletary) Miller and Mark (Susan) Miller, grandchildren Margaret Shropshire and Keith Miller, Adam (Michele) Miller, Zachary Miller and Kyle (Jessica) Miller along with great grandchildren Dustin, Flynn, Cleo, Vesper, Gavin, Chase, Bryce and Isabella.
Special thanks to the staff at Denton Rehab and VNA-Ann's Haven hospice for their dedicated care of Audrey in her late life stages. The family requests in lieu of flowers that friends remember Audrey as a vibrant and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-great grandmother.
Family will receive friends on January 17, 2018, from 6 to 8pm at DeBerry Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 18 at St. David's Episcopal Church, 623 Ector St., Denton, Texas. Interment to follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
