IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Augie Judah
Taylor
October 26, 2019 – August 6, 2020
Augie Judah Taylor passed away in his mom's arms on August 6, 2020 in Dallas, Texas.
Augie was born on October 26, 2019 in Dallas with a congenital heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. Through multiple open heart surgeries, he fought bravely and was a fierce heart warrior until his last breath.
In his 9 months, Augie's determination and resilience inspired not only everyone who came in contact with him, but the many who followed his journey through the stories of his proud parents. He had a contagious smile that melted the hearts of those around him. Only a select few got to see it, for Augie made you work for one of his famous smiles. He was always curious and had bright, sparkly eyes that would follow you around the room. He loved being held by his mom and watching his dad do funny things to make him smile. Augie loved reading and would always relax to the sound of his mom singing. His favorite songs were "Mr. Golden Sun" and "In the Jungle" and favorite books were "The Pout Pout Fish", "When God Made You" and "God Bless You and Goodnight". In spite of all he had to go through, he was patient with people and snuggly- and his favorite place to be was in his mom or dad's arms.
Though his time with us was short, Augie changed his parents' lives forever. His life has imprinted on the hearts of everyone around him, and his spirit will live on in those who knew him. Our hearts are broken wide open without him, and only comforted knowing he is with the Lord in his new, unbroken and perfect body, with a full heart.
Augie's parents were naïve to the world of congenital heart defects before his birth. CHDs affect 1 in 100 babies and thousands of children die each year from a heart defect. It is his parents' hope that knowledge and research towards congenital heart defects will increase substantially, as it is incredibly underfunded. In lieu of flowers, his parents are collecting funds to use in a way that honors Augie (ask the family for details).
Augie is survived by his Mom and Dad Audra and Troy Taylor of Denton, Grandparents Don & Dianne Yarborough of Garland and James & Nancy Taylor of Leander, Uncle Beau & Aunt Rebecca Yarborough of Dallas, Uncle Zach & Aunt Christy Taylor of New Braunfels, Cousins, Elise & Julia Yarborough, and Payce, Aden, Knox, Mary & Wren Taylor and the team at Children's Medical Center who became like his second family.
A family graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton, Texas.
