Obituary

Aulta Opal-Katherine Hackett, 96, of Denton, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015. She was born November 16, 1918 in Weatherford to Charles Claude and Martha Etta-Elizabeth Brown Harrington. She married Albert C. Hackett on February 14, 1944 in Palo Pinto. She worked for Duke and Ayres 5 and 10 in Weatherford. After she married Albert, she was the assistant manager for the Ardmore, Mineral Wells and Denton stores until Albert's death. After Albert's death, she was the manager of the Denton store. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Denton.

Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton. Graveside services will be Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Bethel Cemetery in Weatherford.

Aulta is survived by her son, Charles Hackett and wife Nelda of Denton; granddaughter, Terra Hackett of Forney; grandson, Gary Hackett of Bells; step-granddaughter, Mary Jeanes of Denton; nephews, Jimmy Bodiford and wife Rita of Weatherford and Mike Bodiford and wife Regina of San Angelo. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Ann's Haven Hospice, 321 W. McKinney, Suite 101, Denton, Texas 76201 or First United Methodist Church, 201 S. Locust, Denton, Texas 76201.
