Obituary

Barbara Gayle (Boliver) Garrison was called to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 5, 2024. She was born to Albert Raymond Boliver and Charlsie Damon (Pate) Boliver on August 26, 1937 in Abernathy, Texas. She was the oldest of four children. The family moved to Lake Dallas, Texas in the mid 1940's and Barbara graduated from Denton High School.

On September 4, 1953, Barbara married Jerry Marshall Garrison in Lewisville, Texas. They made their home in Lake Dallas, and had two children, Vickie Gail (Garrison) Barker and Ricky Marshall Garrison. She worked from 1964-1983 as the school district superintendent's secretary. Upon retirement from the school district, she worked with her husband, Jerry, and their son, Ricky, as the secretary at Custom Counter Tops from 1983-1997. She also volunteered for decades with the Lake Dallas Birthday Club helping with the oversight and care of the Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas. Barbara was a member of Lake Dallas United Methodist Church.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Charlsie Boliver. Her husband, Jerry, of 45 years, preceded her in death on June 22, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Hulen Boliver and Ronnie Boliver; and sister-in-law, Thelma Boliver.

She is survived by her brother, Tommy (Jeneane) Boliver and sister-in-law, Charlotte Boliver. She is also survived by her daughter, Vickie Fowler Barker, and son Ricky (Vicki) Garrison.

She was a loving Grandma to 8 grandchildren: Ricky Fowler, Mandy (Lee) Kirkland, Chris (Megan) Fowler, Katie (Paul) Hines, Jake Garrison, Luke Garrison, Laura (Jordan) Hart, Hannah (Evan) Davis; and 12 great-grandchildren: Dylan Bartts, Payton Fowler, Emaleigh Fowler, Colton Fowler, Eli Fowler, Bailey Fowler, Layla Garrison Augustine, Alyse Garrison Augustine, Kevin Hines, Andrew Hines, Daniel Hines, and Beauden Davis. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

The family will receive friends and loved ones at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 6:00pm-8:00 p.m. for visitation.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024 in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. John Peel officiating. Burial will be at Swisher Cemetery in Lake Dallas.
