Obituary

Barbara Mallow Jungjohan passed away at age 79 on August 21, 2021, in Denton, Texas. She was born in Greenville, Texas on November 16, 1941, to Vearis C. and Julia Catherine Brasher Mallow. She attended Blue Ridge and McKinney schools before enrolling at Texas Woman's University. Her graduate work was done at Baylor University, during which she married Gerald E. Jungjohan of Moline, Ill.

Mrs. Jungjohan worked at the University of North Texas for most of her professional life, serving as the director of various services (Student Employment, Services to Mature Students, Services to Disabled Students) and as Dean of Students and Associate Vice President for Student Affairs.

Barbara was very active in church and is well known for making thousands of knit hats for children and survivors of cancer.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald, daughter, Elizabeth Ann Parrish and her husband Clifton of North Richland Hills, Texas, and sister, Lasca Moses of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, sister Juanita Cooke, and brothers, Charles, John, Alvin, and Keith Mallow.

A Celebration of life will be held at First Denton (First Baptist Church in Denton) on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 10:00 am.
