Barbara Jean Lessard peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with illness. She is now at rest with her Heavenly Father and loved ones who have gone before her. She departed this life surrounded by her husband, sister, and daughters, enveloped in their love.

A devoted, active member of First Rock Fellowship Church in Aubrey, Texas, Barbara’s faith was central to her life. She found great joy in serving others through her church community.

Barbara was an avid seamstress who lovingly made clothes for her four daughters. In later years, she created colorful Bible bookmarks that she gave to people at church. She also cherished simple pleasures such as going to the movies and tending to her flowers in the yard and traveling with her husband.

She is survived by: husband, Robert Alan Lessard, sister, Pat Lafser, daughters: Dawn French and husband Trent, Laney Howard and husband Tracey, Stacie Burt and Cornelius Cavitt, Sally Baucom and husband Kris, step son, Jeffrey Lessard and wife Becky. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by father, Gene Upshaw; mother, Eddie Ballard; brother, Michael Upshaw; and son-in-law, Tyler Gullette.

A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at First Rock Fellowship Church, 201 N. Cherry St, Aubrey, TX.

Her memory will live on through the love she poured into her family, her beautiful handmade creations, and the quiet acts of kindness she shared with her church community. She will be deeply missed.
