Barbara Young passed away in her home in Aubrey, Texas, on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, surrounded by her family. She was born in Commerce, Texas, on December 19, 1938, to James Pullen and Ruth Dameron Pullen. In April 1959, she married her high school sweetheart, James Young.

Barbara graduated from Decatur High School in 1956 and studied at NTSC (now UNT). She retired from DATCU in 1996 and enjoyed traveling, camping, and spending time with her family and the Grace Pointe Church family in Denton.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, James Young, her parents, James and Ruth Pullen, and sisters Linda Sampler and Joan Speer. She is survived by her son, James Trent Young, and his wife, Carla Young; her grandchildren, Amanda Lidster and her husband, Paul Lidster; Austin Young and his wife, Bailey Young; and her great-grandchildren, Ava Young and Landon Lidster, as well as a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

A graveside service will be held at Sycamore Cemetery in Decatur at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 22, 2024.
