Barry Veanueva, 79, of Sanger, passed away on September 25th, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Barry was born on January 18, 1945, in Denton to Ben Veanueva, Sr. & Mildred Garcia.

Barry retired from the Dallas Morning News in 2017.

Barry is survived by his wife, Sandra Elaine Bays; his daughter, Vikki Rinehart; his daughter, Tammy Fettig & her husband, Chris; his step-children, Kimberly Brock, Katherine Guerra & Michael Sprabary; his grandchildren, Blake Taylor, Jeremy Taylor, Brittany Dunn, Althea Fettig & Keith Fettig; extended family & a host of friends.

Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Ben & Mildred Veanueva; his sister, Gloria Anderson; & his brother, Ben Veanueva, Jr.

Funeral service for Barry will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 30, 2024, in the chapel of Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors, with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Rev. Sam Redfearn will officiate.
