Jo Gibson passed away in Denton, Texas on Thursday, September 1, 2022. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, on June 5, 1929. She was adopted by Joe and Isabel Walraven. Jo grew up in Texarkana, Texas. She graduated from high school in Honolulu, Hawaii, and then went on to graduate from East Texas Teacher's College. After college, she married Jimmie A. Gibson in June of 1951. Jim and Jo traveled many places with their two children while Jim was serving in the Air Force. Jo's gift from God was to teach young children. She enjoyed helping children grow in their education.

She is survived by her husband Jimmie Gibson, son Glen Gibson (Angie), daughter Beth Davis (Jim), 4 grandchildren: Ben Gibson, Christy Sayer, Katy Dingman, and Andrea Petty. She also loved and enjoyed her 7 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at the DFW National Cemetery on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 10:00 AM. A celebration of Jo's life is scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Saturday, September 10, 2022 at DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton, Texas.
