IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Belinda Jean
Beasley
October 27, 1956 – December 17, 2023
Belinda Beasley of Denton, Texas, 67, passed away peacefully with family beside her as she drew her last breath on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023.
She was born Oct. 27, 1956, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Ralph and Erma Jennings. Belinda graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas with a degree in English. Prior to her college career, she graduated from Central High School in Little Rock.
Belinda taught High School English for Pulaski County schools for several years until she switched careers to become a fulltime, stay at home mom.
As a mom, Belinda took an interest in sewing and taught herself to make clothes and costumes for her girls and for church events and charities. Later, she used her love of teaching and taught other women to sew.
She touched many more lives after discovering quilting. In the beginning, she made quilts by machine and later learned traditional skills to make them by hand. She did a lot of charity quilting which included supporting the needs of the Appalachian people. To her, it was both practical and personal. She created quilts and gave them to friends and family, often following a significant life event. Her desire was to help bring some comfort to the recipients. It grew from a mere hobby to a ministry for her. Many lives were touched by her efforts, including mentoring other women to quilt. She modeled a Titus 2 woman.
Belinda was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Phil and two daughters, Charissa Barnes and her husband Paul of Henderson, Nevada and Rosanna Markman and her husband Austin of Georgetown, Texas. She is also survived by five grandchildren whom she dearly loved: Reagan, Brooklyn, Bryn, Talan and Carson, and as well as a great grandchild on the way.
