Benjamin Rodriguez Vega Jr. 62, of Denton passed away on November 24, 2018 in Denton. He was born on August 10, 1956 in Tampa, Florida to Benjamin Sr. and Angela (Santamarina).

Ben loved being outdoors, and especially enjoyed the ocean. One of his favorite activities was going to the beach in Port Aransas, Texas, a trip he looked forward to every year with his family. He loved anything that involved spending time with his loved ones, whether it was flying model airplanes with his son, attending sporting events, watching a University of Texas or Dallas Cowboys game, or his children's band and choir competitions.

He is survived by his daughters Chrystal Vega and wife Sally of McKinney, Texas, Elise Stroud and husband Eric of Owasso, Oklahoma, Caroline Vega and fiancé Andrew Shelley of Wichita, Kansas, his son, Benjamin Vega III of Era, Texas, Ben's sisters; Margaret Lubben of San Antonio, Texas and Ellen Rackley of San Antonio, Texas and his four grandchildren, Tatom, Jase, Charlie and Walker.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton, Texas.
