IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bernard Anthony
Coda
February 22, 1931 – February 23, 2021
Bernard Anthony Coda, born February 22, 1931 in Kankakee County, Illinois to Bernard Anthony Coda, Sr. and Emma Pollack Coda, died at the age of 90, on February 23, 2021 in his daughter's home, in Sanger, Texas.
In 1953 he married Jeanette Giunta and raised three children, step son Louis Pol, daughters Teresa Coda Latham and Georgina Coda Edgington. He was a professor of Accounting hired at NTSU from 1965 until his retirement in the Spring of 1997.
His joy throughout life and especially after retirement was watching his beloved Chicago Cubs and most anything concerning "The Ponies" (Horse racing). He looked forward to his Monday Night Poker Games with his colleagues then after retirement "The Tuesday Lunch".
He said he would die a happy man if the Chicago Cubs won a World Series in his lifetime, which they did in 2016, so his family feels fortunate to have had him almost five years after that wish.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Jean, and three children. His beloved sister, Genny and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, and brother, Robert Coda. He was also preceded in death by the two best son-in laws on the planet, Phill Edgington and Pete Latham.
Visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 4-5 PM with a Celebration of Life service following at 5:00 PM, in The Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors.
In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a contribution to Denton Christian Pre-School Denton, Texas or The Linda McNatt Animal Shelter in Denton, Texas in honor of Mr. Coda
