Bertha Mae (Byrd) Roberts

Born October 7th, 1933, Bertha Roberts, 90 years old, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, November 2nd, 2023. She was at home in McKinney, Texas with family when she passed away peacefully. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband Burton Lee Roberts; her parents, Franklin Uriah & Willie Mae Byrd; 6 brothers and 2 sisters, one being her twin and 2 children that died at birth.

Beloved by all, she is survived by 3 children, David & wife Cheryl Roberts, Gary & wife Dee Roberts, Debbie & husband James Scroggin; 12 Grandchildren; 32 great Grandchildren; and 3 great - great Grandchildren.

Mrs. Roberts was born in Medina, Texas. She earned her high school GED and later received an  Associate degree in Applied Science from Cooke County Junior College. Bertha and Burton Roberts were joined in marriage October 5th, 1950.

Mrs. Roberts had a 27 year career at the Denton State School, most of which she was a night supervisor.  After retirement she loved the being the "Blue Bell" ice cream lady at the Hattie Dyer Elementary School in Krum, Texas. The children's smiles were a daily blessing to her.

The funeral service will be held at Plainview Baptist Church, 12205 FM 1173 Krum, TX. 76249 at 11:00 AM on November 11th, 2023 where she was once a member, followed by a family lunch in the church Fellowship Hall.

There will be a private family burial in the Jackson Cemetery Krum, Texas.
