Obituary

Beryle Jean Walston, 88, passed away on January 27, 2015. She was born on January 9, 1927 in Vernon, TX to Walter Ernest and Viola Bell Hoffman. She was a graduate of Vernon High School, Christian Female College in Columbia, MO and North Texas State Teachers College in Denton. As a young woman, she taught in the public school system in Port Arthur, TX. She was united in marriage to D. C. Walston, also of Vernon, on December 19, 1949. Later in Denton, she taught at Congress Junior High School and was a library assistant at Strickland Junior High School.

Beryle had a love of children, teaching, reading and music.
She shared her musical talents through her piano playing and
participation in church choirs, including those at First Baptist Church in Denton where she was an active member for more than 40 years. Her strong Christian faith guided her helpful actions towards others throughout her life.

Beryle will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She is survived by her husband D. C. Walston of Denton; daughters, Delia Croessmann of Springfield, MO and Karen Everett and her husband Lee of Dallas; son W. Casey Walston of Denton; granddaughters, Olivia and Caroline Croessmann of Springfield, MO; brother, Bill D. Hoffman and his wife Doris of Lubbock, TX and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, Robert E. Hoffman.

The family wishes to thank all our friends at VNA Ann's Haven Hospice and Good Samaritan Society, Denton Village for the special care they provided Beryle the last few years.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Bill DeBerry Funeral Directors, 2025 W. University Drive, Denton, TX. A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 31 at 10:30 a.m. at Roselawn Memorial Park, 3801 Roseland Drive, Denton, TX. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
