Bethie Lou "Beth" Johnson, 78, of Denton passed away Friday, October 11, 2013 in Corinth, Texas. She was born April 20, 1935 in Harper, Texas to Burman Lee and Effie Belle Faris . She graduated from Demarest High School in Hoboken, NJ and subsequently attended Trinity University for Nursing. She was accepted into the Eastern Star Fraternal Organization in 1955. She married Orlean "OD" Johnson in San Antonio, Texas on September 4, 1954.

Beth and OD were married for 59 years and enjoyed traveling the country extensively. They visited every state with the exception of Hawaii, and most of Canada.

She is survived by her husband, OD Johnson of Denton; son, Jon Johnson and wife Lorelei Windeler, and three grandchildren, Sydney, Bentley and Layton Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Burman Lee Feris.

The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors, Denton, Texas. Burial will be at a later date at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas.
