Betty Gail Anderson (86) passed away in Denton, Texas on Thursday, February 27, 2025. She was born in Dallas, Texas to Herman and Dorothy Rice on September 13, 1938. She lived her early years in Henrietta, Texas. She also lived with family in Farmersville, Texas. She was tremendously proud of being the cousin WW II Hero, Audie L. Murphy. She married US Navy Chief Franklin Douglas Anderson at Imperial Beach, California in 1956. They were Stationed in Guam during their early years of marriage where their two oldest children were born. Then they were Stationed in Jacksonville, Florida for the next 20 years before moving to North Texas for the remainder of their lives.

Betty enjoyed  the love of family life and dancing. She is preceded in death by her; parents, husband Franklin Douglas Anderson Sr., son in law Dean McClellan and grandson Joe McClellan.

She is survived by her sister & brother in law Darlene & Jerry Harris, 5 children; Franklin Douglas Anderson Jr, Danny Alan Anderson, Dawn Michelle McClellan, Lloyd Dennis Anderson & Nan Denise Sciscoe, 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

Betty will be laid to rest with her husband at the DFW National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 11AM.
