Obituary

Betty June Bailes, 95, of Krum, Texas, passed away in Krum on March 10, 2026. She was born in Greenwood, TX, on June 15, 1930, to Jesse and Lena (Lyle) Fellers.

She was united in marriage to Thomas Champ Bailes on August 4, 1948, and they shared 34 years of marriage before his passing in 1982.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her beloved sisters Louise Kelley, Ruby Fellers, Mary Fellers, Mildred Mara, Jimmie Wooliver, and Edna Bogard; as well as her brothers Jesse Leton Fellers, Robert Fellers, and James Ernest Fellers. She will also be joyfully reunited in heaven with her son Bobby Dale Bailes, her daughter Linda Stephens, her daughter Abbie Omega Williams, her son-in-law Tommy Joe Rhodes, and her grandson Thomas Michael “Dusty” Rhodes.

Betty graduated from school then her husband made their home in Sanger, Texas, where they raised their children. She went on to work for many years at Dillard’s, later continuing her career with CoServ, where she eventually retired.

Betty loved every precious child God blessed her with unconditionally. Her family was her greatest joy and legacy. She was blessed with 7 children, 17 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-great-grandchildren, spanning five generations of family.

Betty accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior August 12, 1942. She was a member at Denton Bible Church and was deeply passionate about Jesus Christ. Her faith was evident throughout her life. One of the greatest expressions of her love was her faithful prayer life. Night after night she prayed for each family member by name, lifting them up to the Lord. She also spent 18 years attending and serving in Bible Study Fellowship, where she faithfully studied God’s Word and often brought along many of her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren over the years.

Those remaining to cherish Betty’s precious memory include her children: Diane Rhodes of Sanger, Debbie Baker of Sanger, Tommie Jean Counts of Krum, and Champ Bailes of Sanger, along with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Betty would want everyone to know the truth that guided her life: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” — Romans 10:9
