IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Joan
Loiselle
November 25, 1931 – April 9, 2018
The world lost an amazing lady on April 9, 2018. Betty Joan "Jody" Loiselle, aged 86, died peacefully at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
Jody was born in Aubrey, Texas on November 25, 1931. She was raised in Pilot Point, Texas by her parents Ross and Alice Williams. Growing up she helped her family by picking cotton and working in her father's vegetable garden. She learned to swim in a stock tank just outside of Aubrey. She loved checking trotlines with her father. After graduating from Pilot Point High School in 1949, Jody joined the US Air Force and was stationed at Eglin AFB, Florida.
While at Eglin AFB, she met Joseph Ralph Loiselle and on May 6, 1951, they were married and remained so until Joe's death on February 23, 1997.
Jody was a consummate mother, raising 4 boys who all grew up to be big-hearted, successful gentlemen. The love and support she had for them never wavered. All 4 boys share stories of the numerous occasions that she either came to their rescue or provided the ultimate mother's comfort to get them through difficult times.
Jody had several interests that kept her busy. She was a long-time volunteer at the Friends of the Family Thrift Shop in Denton. She made lifelong friends while working there. Jody also continued bowling in a weekly league up until very recently. Her other activities included reading and being the #1 Texas Rangers and Dallas Mavericks fan!
Jody is survived by her sons Mark Loiselle and his wife DaNita, Jonathan Loiselle and his wife Lisa, Brian Loiselle and his wife Denise, and Tracy Loiselle and his wife Lori. She had 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home in Denton on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Donations can be made to the Denton Public Library.
The family also wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during the last several years and most recently, the staff at Presbyterian Hospital in Denton.
