Betty June Parkes's Obituary

Mrs. Betty June Oswalt Parkes passed in peace surrounded by family on Monday, November 26 at the age of 79.

Betty, known to our family as "Mema," was a very special and much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.  Her premature passing has left us feeling as though we've lost our best friend, but we find much comfort in knowing she is in the great hands of our Lord and Savior.

Betty spent the majority of her life in Denton, married 38 years to Jack Parkes.  They loved their life together at their picturesque home called Hickory Hill Horses.  A few years ago, Betty and Jack moved to Robson Ranch where together they began a new chapter in life.

Betty was always happiest when spending time with her family and friends.  She especially loved looking at photos of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Over the years she devoted herself to making special and lasting memories with her grandchildren.  By far some of the most memorable times were when she hosted Camp Mema.

Her enthusiasm for life was infectious.  She always wanted to make sure those around her thoroughly enjoyed themselves no matter the occasion.  Betty loved to travel with family and friends especially to her favorite destination, Maui, HI.

Betty will be greatly missed by all who loved her but especially her husband Jack Parkes; her daughter Shelley Jewel; her sons Kelly Dozier and Kevin Dozier; her step daughter Deanna Roseberry; her daughters-in-law Kelly Dozier and Toni Dozier; her step son-in-law Tony Roseberry; her seven grandchildren Devin Dozier, Hunter Dozier, Melanie Dozier, Bryce Dozier, Kenzie Dozier, Jordan Roseberry and Landon Roseberry; her granddaughters- in-law Donna Dozier and Amanda Dozier; her five great grandchildren Hudson Dozier, Bodhi Dozier, Ella Dozier, Zoey Harding, and Ryleigh Roseberry.

Celebration of Life is scheduled for the 15th of December at the Lantana Country Club. Services will start at 10:00 AM and run until 12:00PM.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Denton Homeless Shelter.
