Betty Joyce Stocks passed away peacefully in Plano, Texas on Monday, December 11, 2023. She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on June 5, 1929 to Ocie Thomas and Opal Aline (Sullivan) Dooley. Betty  married Edgar Wayne Stocks on June 17, 1977 in Commerce, Texas.

She worked for Temco, LTV, E-Systems in Greenville, Texas and Raytheon Garland for approximately 35 years and retired in 1994.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, one son, Greg Pier, her parents, Ocie and Opal and sisters, Jean Davidson and Patsy Roland.

Betty enjoyed family gatherings and several hobbies such as traveling, collecting figurines, sewing, needle-point and cross stitch. She embraced her Christian faith and read her bible daily.

Services will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home Chapel of Denton, Texas at 2pm with a visitation from 1pm - 2pm Friday, December 15, 2023. Interment will be at D/FW National Cemetery (Grand Prairie) at 10am Tuesday, December 19, 2023.

Betty is survived by her brother Thomas Wayne Dooley of Rockwall, Texas, son Gil Pier and wife Georgia of Rockwall, Texas, daughter Susan Dykes and husband Don of Parker, Texas, daughter Lisa Zimmerman and husband, Jeff of Allen, Texas, stepson Gary Stocks and wife, Thien of Plano, Texas. She is also survived by grandchildren, Brad Freeman, Bryan Dykes, Daren Dykes, Emily Martin, Sam Zimmerman and Josh Stocks, as well as, seven great-grandchildren and a host of other loving family members and friends.
