Betty Marie Stone, 88, of Denton passed away peacefully on April 29, 2021 at Vintage Health Care Center, Denton, Texas. She was born July 30, 1932 to Byron and Laura Rainey. She married Glen E. Stone, her high school sweetheart, on April 27, 1951 in Denton, Texas.

Betty spent her life in Denton, Texas where she worked at a variety of small businesses in the area, including as a bookkeeper, while raising a family and taking care of friends and family alike. For many years, she lived on Woodland Street where, along with her late husband Glen, she provided friendship and comfort to her neighbors of all ages – many of whom became close friends. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Betty's generous, kind, and giving nature morns her loss and will miss the joy she brought to their lives.

She is survived by one grandson, Jeremy K. Lee of Denton, three cousins, Elsie Jay of Denton, Elizabeth Petersen of Krum, and John Frederick of Chandler, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glen; son, Bill Stone; daughter, Vicki Celotto; son-in-law, Patrick Celotto; and beloved sister, Judy Miller.

The family wants to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the caregivers at Vintage Health Care Center in Denton and Mercy Hospice of Flower Mound.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Burial will follow at Jackson Cemetery in Krum, Texas.
