Bettye Tidwell, 77 of Denton, passed away at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Parker County, Tx, September 11, 1942 to Jerry Garland Shires and Gertrude Whitfield.  She married her sweetheart, George Tidwell, November 1, 1975 in Corinth, Tx.

She is survived by:  five daughters, Rochelle Maass of Arlington, Tx; Jerri Bussell and husband Todd of Ardmore Ok; Danielle Calvin and husband Charles of Denton, Tx; Deanna Burgess of Denton, Tx; Michelle Lambert of Denton Tx; four sons, Greg Hibler and wife Linda of Lillian, Tex; Bill Hibler of Weatherford, Tx; James Tidwell and wife Jennifer of Denton, Tx; Scott Tidwell of Denton, Tx. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her brother Zach Shires and wife Lanel; her sister Ruth Werley and husband Terry; her brother John Shires and wife Ida.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two sons, and her beloved husband as well as six siblings.
