November 24, 1930 – June 22, 2017
Billie Marie Argo Monds, formerly from Arlington and Denton , passed from her earthly home in Lone Star, Texas , to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 22, 2017 after a five year battle with cancer. She had a vibrant and sometimes fiery spirit that shone throughout her life.
She was born at home in Denton County to C. A. and Tressie Faye Argo 86 years ago on November 24, 1930 . She attended Cooper Creek School and Denton ISD, graduating from Denton High School in 1948. She also attended Arlington State College.
On July 3, 1948 , she eloped and married the love of her life, William Hale Monds.
Billie spent her early married life raising her two boys and working at the churches her husband pastored. As a pastor's wife she ministered through her love of music, whether it was by teaching piano from her home or playing the piano or organ during the church services. After the long illness and passing of her husband, her later years were spent loving and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.A. and Tressie Faye Argo, her husband, William Hale Monds, her brothers, Clinton Argo and Jackie Argo, and her sister, Betty Lou Argo Moore.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Laurel Monds of Flint , Texas and Rick and Dorothy Monds of Lone Star, Texas and two brothers, Benny Argo of Boyd , Texas , and Jim Argo of Denton , Texas plus many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was Memaw to four granddaughters, one grandson, and three grandsons-in-law, Angela and Clint Gordon of Lindale, Texas, Christi and Chevy Sturgill of Bullard, Texas, Randi and R.D. Boydstun of Longview, Texas, Codi Monds of Jefferson, Texas and Dylan Monds of Lone Star, Texas.
She was also known as Memaw to six great grandchildren, Carson , Natalie, Letty, Chase, Ayden, and Grace.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 25, 2017 from 3:00-5:00 at DeBerry Funeral Directors in Denton , Texas . Graveside service will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Cooper Creek Cemetery just outside of Denton .
