Billie Evalou Chandler, resident of Denton, Texas, passed away on August 11, 2015 in the town of Justin, Texas. She was a gentle, kind, and great lady. Billie was born May 10, 1934 in the town of Watson in Bailey County, Texas. Billie was a dedicated and loving wife. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. Everyone who met her described her as a sweet and caring person. She remained a faithful member of the Primitive Baptist Church since childhood.
On February 3, 1951, Billie married husband Orbie Ray Chandler and they remained together until his death in 2011. Billie has four living children: Bonnie Thomas of Germantown, Tennessee; Betty Bush of Post Falls, Idaho; Charlie Chandler of Manassas, Virginia; and Dr. Cynthia Chandler of Denton, Texas. Billie and Orbie's first-born child, Diana Lynn Chandler, died in infancy. Billie's grandchildren are: Rachel (Thomas) Little, Jason Thomas, Lonnie Max Bush, Brandon Bush, Rowdy Bush, Terra Chandler, and Nichole (Chandler) Wienberg. She has eight great grandchildren. Billie is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Lutishia Watson of Muleshoe, Texas and her brother Milton Leon Watson of Farwell, Texas.
Visitation will be Monday, August 17, 2015 from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2015 at 9:00 A.M. in the chapel of DeBerry Funeral Directors and will be officiated by Elder Vernon Johnson and Elder Don Watson. Billie Chandler will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Dallas-Ft Worth National Cemetery.
