Jean was born July 22, 1925, in Russellville, Arkansas, the third child to Richard & Inez Fowler.
At age 12, she moved with her parents to Denton, Texas in 1938. At that time, the three of them joined the First Baptist Church, where she was a member for the rest of her life and also, a member by proxy in White's Chapel Methodist Church during later years.
Jean graduated from Denton High School in 1942 & from NTSTC (now UNT) in 1946.
In May 1946, Jean married Richard Kiracofe & they had been married for 65 years when he died in 2011. They were the parents of one daughter, Deborah Kiracofe.
Jean was a homemaker & worked as a secretary & bookkeeper & substitute teacher. Her main interests were her Christianity, her family & friends. Her church was the center of her family's life, where she served in children's departments for 40 years & teaching survival English in the Literacy Program for 19 years.
Her volunteer work included privately tutoring, reading to adults & children for 25 years, tutoring in her church's after-school program & in grade school, also volunteering at Denton State School, the Community Food Room & Daily Bread.
Her hobbies were painting watercolor, reading, music & traveling.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Kiracofe.
A private graveside prayer meditation was held; and a Time of Remembrance for the Open Door Sunday School class at White's Chapel Methodist Church will be celebrated this fall. Jean will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
