Billy Charles Ewton, Jr. 63, of Whitesboro, TX, passed away Sunday morning, February 22, 2026, at Texhoma Medical Center in Sherman. He was born in Baldwin Park, CA to Billy & Nell Light Ewton. He was a graduate of Denton High School Class of 1981. He received his Associate Welding Degree from TSTC of Waco. Billy enlisted in the United States Navy on February 21, 1984. He went on to serve six years on board the nuclear class submarine USS Michigan 727. He was Honorably Discharged on February 20, 1990.
He married Galen Jo Noles on April 5th, 1991, at Elm Ridge Methodist Church in Navo, Tx.
After the Navy, he worked at Baxter and Sons Elevator, Denton Electric and Goin Electric, which he was an owner/partner. Billy then worked for the City of Denton for 21 years, rising to the position of Assistant Building Official.
During his life, Billy filled holes he never had to: as a father, a brother, an uncle, mentor, and friend. He did this simply because that’s who he was.
Billy is survived by his wife, Galen Noles Ewton of Whitesboro: sons, Brady and wife Kayla Ewton, Beau and wife Kelby Ewton; grandchildren, Kolter and Bennie Kay Ewton, and soon to be grandson Baxter Ewton; parent, Nell Rankin; brothers, Matthew Wayne Ewton, Rocky Ewton, and Josh Ewton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Ewton Sr, stepfather B.L. Rankin, brother, Dee Ewton and father-in-law Benny Noles.
Pallbearers will be: Ben Brown, Kevin Hagemann, Jackie Hooten, Mike Talpai, Derall Weger, Gary Schulz.
The family will be at DeBerry Funeral Directors on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for visitation, located at 2025 W University Dr, Denton, TX 76201.
Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church Denton, 1100 Malone St, Denton, TX 76201, on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Zion Cemetery in Little Elm, Texas.
