Billy Ray Murdock, 74, of Krum, TX passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022. He was born in Ponder, TX on October 25, 1947 to Delbert Murdock and Allie "Ruth" (Smith) Murdock.

After graduating from Denton High School, he served in the US Army and was discharged as a sergeant while earning a Bronze Star Medal. He married Vickie Smith on May 29, 1970 in Denton, TX and later married June Marshall on June 21, 1997 in Denton, TX.  Prior to his retirement, Billy was employed as a manager for the City of Denton Street Department. Billy was an avid muscle car enthusiast and enjoyed nothing more than tinkering under the hood of a car or truck.  He had a heart of gold and loved spending time with his family.

A visitation will be held at DeBerry Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Funeral services will also take place at DeBerry Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 beginning at 10:00 AM. He will be interred at Jackson Cemetery in Krum, TX following the service.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and wife June.  He is survived by his son Shawn Murdock; daughter Wendy Murdock Bell and husband Brian; son Brandon Murdock and wife Jessica; grandchildren Bryson Bell, Brylie Bell, Connor Murdock and Addison Murdock; brothers Jimmy Murdock and Steve Murdock; sisters Mary Ridgway and Betty Webb; step-children Gregory Ford and Tracy Ford and step-grandchild Morghyn Ford.
