BOB L. NORTON, D.D.S.

Bobby Lee Norton, 92, of  Denton, passed into his eternal home on January 1, 2022.  He was born March 20, 1929 in Plano, Texas to Alma Rogers Norton and Madison W. Norton.  The family moved to Dallas when Bob was a youngster and he was a graduate of Walnut Hill Elementary, Hillcrest High and Southern Methodist University. After completing Baylor College of Dentistry in 1965, Dr. Norton moved his family to Denton and enjoyed helping his patients with kind and gentle care for over 30 years. He was a member of numerous dental organizations and a long-time member of Denton Kiwanis Club.  A man of faith, he served First Presbyterian Church as Elder, Deacon, Youth Leader, Building Committee, Property Committee plus anywhere needed. This quiet man was a true "gentleman."

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Roger and Jack.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Loretta Downing Norton, daughter, Beverly N. Anthes and husband John, granddaughters, Katherine L. Anthes, Christine A. Wiley and husband Dominic, Valerie A. Larpenteur and husband Bradley, two great-grands, Julia and Liam Larpenteur, Cousin, Mary Jo Haggard, along with church family, dental family and very special friends.

Bob was an outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and gardening (tomatoes were his specialty).  He and Loretta also loved anything with the family, August in Crested Butte, Colorado, touring and shopping in Santa Fe, New Mexico, playing "42" and Chickenfoot, treasure hunting at estate sales, and dining out with friends.

His was a long and happy life and he will be greatly missed by family and all those whose lives he touched through the years.

Memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 1114 W. University Drive, Denton, Texas on Saturday, January 8 at 2:00 P.M.
