Bob Peterson was born in Roanoke, Texas on August 1, 1927 and passed away April 10, 2012 in Lubbock, Texas. Burial will be on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Elizabeth Cemetery near Roanoke, Texas. A memorial service will be held at Second Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 1:30 pm, followed by a visitation.



After graduating from Roanoke High School, Bob joined the Merchant Marines and later served in the Navy during World War II.



He earned a Bachelors degree from North Texas State University using the GI Bill to further his education. Later he obtained a Masters degree from West Texas State University. He was an elementary principal in Pampa, Lefores, and Lubbock. He retired in 1987 after serving seventeen years as principal at Martin Elementary.



He was preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Addie Peterson, and four brothers: Ogle, Francis, Jack, and Bill.



He is survived by his wife: Mary Hildebrand, Daughter: Keri Roach and husband Ronnie, son: Mike Peterson and wife Ruth, Betty Peterson, the mother of his children, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
