Robert "Bob" Duane Speers left this life to be with his Lord and Savior in Denton, Texas on Wednesday, March 30, 2022. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on May 20, 1936 to Ivan Speers and Velma Speers Searfoss.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Maurice Speers, Darryl Speers, and a niece, Rene' James.

Bob had a sweet spirit and was kind, gentle and patient. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather but he didn't live long enough to meet his first great grandson due in April.

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Georgie Morse Speers, and sons, Dean (Julie) Speers, Bruce (Kim Capehart) Speers, and Doug (Amber) Speers. Grandchildren Jack Speers, Tom (Christina) Speers, Angela (Brooks) Alexander, Art Speers and step-grandchildren, Connor McDonald, and Brittan (Grant) Lovelady. He is also survived by one niece, Colleen (Tim) Theisen and a great-niece, Alex Theisen.

For 30 years Bob was a Field Engineer with Honeywell Computer Division which necessitated moves for the family to 5 different states.

As a Navy Veteran Bob had many tales to tell. His sons, grandsons, and other family members loved to hear about his experiences in the Navy.

He was an enthusiastic and meticulous builder of radio controlled airplanes. Many happy years were spent flying in competitions with friends in the Rocket City Radio Controllers in Huntsville, AL and then in the Coffee Airfoilers in Tullahoma, TN.

Bob competed in water ski tournaments and enjoyed spending time on the water with his family and friends. After retirement, Bob and Georgie built a house on Tim's Ford Lake and created many wonderful memories with the family.

The most important decision made by Bob was when he decided to follow Jesus and was baptized in 2015 in Winchester, TN. He remained a faithful Christian and was worshipping at Keller Church of Christ in Keller, TX at the time of his death.

A Memorial service will be at Moore Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester, TN on June 4, 2022.
