Bobby Ray Anderson, 77, of Ponder, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Denton, surrounded by his loving family after a short battle of pneumonia. He was born September 24, 1938 in McKinney, Texas to George Nelson Anderson and Myrtle Lee Bostick Anderson. He worked for Merrill Buick as a paint and body specialist. He married Nancy Sue Inglis on March 15, 1958 in Denton. He volunteered for the Boy Scouts of American, Troop 192 and Argyle Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Argyle City Council.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. Graveside service will be Monday, February 22, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Brandon Traughber, Garrett Strickland, Zach Smith, Evan Strickland, Austin Hulcher, Joe Loper, Travis Cole and Ty Damron.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Anderson of Ponder; daughters, Darlene and husband Mike Traughber of Denton, Tresia and husband James Damron of Gainesville, Cindy and husband Ernie Smith of Ponder and Kristi and husband Ed Strickland of Fort Worth; sister, Mildred Ledfer of Denton; brothers, Joe Anderson of Marietta, OK and Melvin Anderson of Denton; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and son, Andrew Ray "Andy" Anderson.
